Writer in Residence - October 2007 to March 2008
Fee: £7200 – 3 days per week for 16 weeks Deadline for applications: Friday 7th September Interview date: Tuesday 18th September Start date: During the month of October
Cromarty Arts Trust is seeking to appoint a writer in residence to work on the theme of Freedom. The aim of the residency is to connect and work with community groups in Cromarty, particularly the Primary School, Cromarty Action for Young People, Cromarty Youth Group, The History Society and the Football Club. The writer will explore FREEDOM in relation to the right to know, to express oneself and to be creative.
The writer will be expected to actively engage with people in Cromarty through the groups they are involved in to explore different genres of writing and influential writers locally, nationally and internationally.
Songs, poems and short stories will be collected and created with the different community groups culminating in an end-of-residency event and the creation of a website dedicated to FREEDOM.
