Join us for a whole weekend of ukulele fun at Cromarty Arts Trust and take your ukulele playing to new heights! You can come to just one or both days. Read on for full details and download a booking form here for full price list and timings.

Your teacher is Finlay Allison, Glasgow Folk Music Workshop’s ukulele wizard. Finlay has been delivering a two-day Ukulele School for more than 10 years at Celtic Connections and in Cromarty. This year he is trying a new approach; two stand-alone days of ukulele tuition with different themes.

FRIDAYJoin like-minded ukulele fans and players for drinks, dinner and a live gig from ukulele duo Fair Trickit, Scotland’s only ukulele playing twins. 

SATURDAY - FINLAY’S BIG COUNTRY UKULELE SONGBOOK

Explore the American country songbook with your ukulele.  Strum and sing along to favourites by Hank Williams, Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and more.  And while you’re having fun, you’ll be picking up new skills in chording, strumming and song arranging. Two sessions: 10am-noon, 2pm-4pm.  Lunch available at the Old Brewery.Dinner followed by mass ukulele playing session in the Old Brewery.

SUNDAY - FINLAY’S BIG SCOTTISH UKULELE SONGBOOK

A day of playing some great Scottish favourites on the ukulele.Folk songs, ballads, comic and music hall songs.  Learn new tricks and techniques on your ukulele as you go. Work up one of the songs to sing as a big finale.  Two sessions: 10am-noon, 2pm-4pm. Lunch available at the Old Brewery.Links to the song sheets will be supplied as always. But for the first time ever, printed copies of the Big Songbooks are available from Finlay at a very fair price!
